Uthando Nes’thembu’s MaKhumalo: I have failed to have my own children
Musa and MaKhumalo have a difficult conversation about her inability to conceive. Musa thinks he might have the answer.
MaKhumalo’s only wish right now is to be able to have her own children. She’s been very open about her infertility struggles and feels like she has failed. On the latest episode of Uthando Nes’thembu, Musa and his third wife had a deep conversation about the sensitive issue, and they spoke about possible solutions.
Musa brought up his concerns about Mpilo – one of his daughters – going off to university in 2020. Mpilo has a close relationship with MaKhumalo and they even live together. Musa said he’s worried about who she’s going to stay with after Mpilo leaves home next year. It seems like he might know how to fix this.
An emotional conversation
Musa is proposing to take another wife that has the same surname as MaKhumalo. The fifth wife will then bear children that she can share with MaKhumalo. Musa’s plan is to have some of these children live between MaKhumalo and the fifth wife’s home. We’re yet to see how this is going to work.
“The biggest portion of my concern is this household. If I don’t make an effort, I fear that this home will perish. I don’t know what other efforts need to be made, so we can keep trying,” he told her.
MaKhumalo, on the other hand, didn’t even think that far. “Maybe I am in denial… Perhaps you’re making me realise something I wasn’t paying attention to. It was just normal to me. It’s like reality is only hitting me now,” she said.
